It's all a work in progress... this site, the work on it, and the studio itself.
Everything in flux... moving.
Like a leaf in a stream....floating.
Taking it all in...breathing.
Recycling it back out...transforming.
It seems to me that, in a sense, Art is a by-product of an individual life lived , and aside from any concepts or ideas which the artist may intend, it can also reflect subconsciously, certain aspects of the time and place wherein it was created....like the layers of an archoelogical dig. To me, it is this multi-dimensional aspect which makes art intriguing and thought provoking...and even ambiguous. I think art should be less about providing answers to questions than it is about questioning answers. Curiosity energizes. <{???}>

These are just a few of my creations from the past...where the barriers between fine art and function are blurred in an attempt to animate the inanimate, stir the imagination and soul, and illuminate ordinary everyday life!

I often use found objects in my work...juxtaposing unlike things in order to create a "whole" effect. Some objects simply belong together...and I am here to unite them. That process can suggest new associations or bridge gaps between old and new...hard against soft...light and dark/heavy and light. Here the metaphors are unlimited and universal...and the viewer's imagination is invited to join in.
I also fabricate from scratch using stock material, creating my own shapes.....whichever method suits my mood or is more appropriate for the piece. In this way, I am not only borrowing from the past, but adding layers in the present.
